On Thursday, February 8th at 10am (est), the New York State Department of Veterans’ Services, in collaboration with Morning Star Full Gospel Assembly, presents an insightful program for Black History Month. ‘From Acknowledgement to Action: Enhancing the Lives of Black and Brown Veterans’ delves into an imperative conversation addressing the historical and current disparities faced by Black and Brown Veterans in receiving adequate benefits and recognition for their service.
This program aims to foster a collective effort within Beloved Community to identify and serve marginalized Veterans and their families across New York State. By bringing together the Veteran community, the Faith-based community, the VA, and local NAACP Chapters through the NYS DVS Faith and Serve initiative, the discussion strives for equitable and just outcomes for all who have served.
