Virtual Vet-to-Vet Cafe: Music as Medicine

March 27 @ 12:00 pm 1:00 pm

Music is an art form that has the power to help soothe, inspire and prompt a range of memories. It can also be used to unite people, as well as help facilitate better communication and reconciliation. We will be highlighting the amazing history of the VA music therapy program that began in 1945 for WWII veterans. We will also have a live performance highlighting the music therapy program at MJHS and how it has benefited our veteran patients.

JOIN US for a free 60-minute virtual program about music as medicine. In celebration of Women’s History Month and National Vietnam War Veterans Day, listen to a riveting discussion with creative arts experts about how music is used as a clinical intervention.

Be sure to stay logged in for the live performances, in addition to tips on how to incorporate music-assisted therapies at home.

FEATURED MJHS SPEAKERS:
• Marguerite Metzendorf, Director of Integrative Medicine and Bereavement Services
• Charla Burton, Creative Arts Clinical Training Program Coordinator
